I'm addicted to solutions

not how I feel.

2-minute read

“You’re about to sell me.”

This came from a prospect's mouth 45 minutes into a call.

What happened prior?

  1. I was invited last minute. I wasn’t meant to drive it.

  2. The prospect said, “We aren’t getting results, and we don’t know why.”

  3. I knew why and started helping.

  4. 30 minutes of high-value advice later…

  5. “You’re about to sell me.”

I was taken aback.

Here I was, providing high-value (stuff I’ve personally paid $10K to receive) and giving it away.

Startled, I said, “Have I talked to you about price once?”

“No, but you’re about to. I’ve been around the block.”

Fuck me.

That conversation knocked me on my ass.

And here’s why:

When you know you’re right, you also have to know when it’s time to push and when it’s time to sit your ass down.

When he said, “I’ve been around the block.” and “You’re about to sell me.”

I told him I disagreed and was happy to return the baton to my colleague.

I shut up.

And he wasn’t expecting that either.

I knew at that moment the conversation had turned from valuable into threatening.

And value should never feel threatening.

But it will make you uncomfortable

Fast forward to another conversation I had on the same day.

I met someone in Europe on LinkedIn who wanted to know how I wrote content.

10 minutes in, I learned he wanted to start his own digital marketing agency.

My ears perked up. A light bulb went off. I jumped right in.

15 minutes later, I advised him to jump into creating his agency and that I had a playbook to help him do that.

I did it 6 years ago, after all.

But while the suggestion wasn’t a threatening one, it was a scary one.

I saw his face twist and turn as he contemplated what I was saying.

He knew how to freelance.

He didn’t know how to start an agency.

He wanted it desperately.

But he was too afraid.

I stopped the call.

So what do these two stories have in common?

Improving is a game of mental hurdles, not acquired skills.

Fear and discomfort are feelings.

But they’re not solutions.

For the first call, the prospect knew he didn’t have a solution but was too scared to accept help.

For the second call, he knew he wanted to pursue his dream but was too afraid to take the first step.

Maybe you feel something similar.

Maybe you have something you know in your heart of hearts you want or need but fear is speaking louder.

It’s not about a system. It’s about a question.

I have a saying:

I’m addicted to solutions, not how I feel.

Fear is a feeling.

Discomfort is a feeling.

Pursuit is a solution.

And how I get over my fear and discomfort so I can start pursuing my goals is with a simple question:

How long am I willing to wait?

If you have a goal, you’d love for it to happen as soon as possible.

So stop waiting.

Fear is good.

Discomfort is good.

Pursuit is good.

It’s all good.

See ya next week.

Here’s my purpose in life

I’m on a mission to help 10,000 solopreneurs double their potential.

So I’m creating a framework that does that in 90 days.

Sound crazy? I thought so too. Until…

If you’ve been here since the beginning, I can’t thank you enough for supporting me as I’ve found my calling.

But I can say without doubt that this is it.

If you’re a solopreneur that…

  • Feels like you’ve run out of ideas

  • Knows you’re not managing your time well

  • Is second guessing your decision to start the business

  • Wishes it wasn’t taking so much time away from things you love

I’m building the FIRE Framework for you.

In 60-90 days you’ll:

  • Know what your purpose in life is

  • How to leverage your time to grow and have fun doing it

  • Cut distraction and work on the “right” things

  • Be twice (or more) as capable as you believed you could be

It’s 25% done and I’m already seeing amazing results for my students.

My mission is to make this framework one of those things that forces you to say:

How the hell is it so cheap?

-Hopefully you

I’m putting my heart and soul into it to build the most value possible.

If you want to see the beta or get added to the waitlist, reply to this email with “FIRE” and I’ll give you a bit more info.

Here's how I can help you right now

I love meeting new people. I love coffee. Let’s grab one together.

Got a mental challenge stunting your solopreneur potential? Grab a Clarity Call. Of course I don’t charge for this. Let’s see if we can help each other first.

I'm using systems and resources to improve 1% every day.

I’ve been active on LinkedIn every day since March. In the beginning, I had no clue what to post. Luckily, my pal Steven has created an entire year’s worth of content frameworks. All you have to do is fill ‘em in.
